Rain Garden Flooding

One way to test the infitration capacity of the soils was to flood the rain garden and observe how long it would take the water to infiltrate. To conducted this test I pumped water out of the cistern into the rain garden during a wet spring week end in 2007.

The animation to the right shows a time-lapse of the infitration process. Use the navigation buttons to play or pause the time-lapse, or to scroll ahead or back.
